Cross country team competes at NCC meet

Under a cloudy sky, with temperatures slowly falling throughout the afternoon, the Clarion-Goldfield-Dows cross country team competed at the North Central Conference Meet last Thursday hosted by Iowa Falls-Alden. Due to wet conditions on the local golf course, the meet became a street race through the town. Humboldt won the girls varsity team title, led by Bryce Gidel’s first place finish. The Wildcats scored 44 points, followed by: St. Edmond 65, IF-A/AGWSR 75, Clear Lake 86, Algona 119, Webster City 139, C-G-D 210 and Hampton-Dumont-CAL 224.

Raven Kinnetz posted the highest Cowgirl finish, taking 32nd overall in 23:35.38. She was followed on the team by: Katherine Lopez in 40th with 25:29.83; Natalie Kirstein in 44th with 26:21.33; Kylie Klaver in 46th with 26:24.34; Kaylynn Nelson in 48th with 27:06.87; Jade LaRue in 49th with 27:32.98 and Quinn Hansch in 51st with 27:47.12.
