Cross country season ends at Dike

The Clarion-Goldfield-Dows were unable to push anyone through to the state meet following a 2A qualifier at Dike last Thursday. The Cowgirls were 11th with 285 points out of 14 teams, with a strong Monticello squad taking the top spot with 40 points followed by Jesup and the host Wolverines. Emily Staal of Springville-Central City took first individually in 18:10.

Raven Kinnetz led the team with a 22:25 for 32nd overall. She was followed by: Makayla Pulido in 53rd with 23:51; Waldina Villanueva in 55th with 23:55; Natalie Kirstein in 56th with 23:58; Alisha Vatne in 89th with 27:39; Kylie Klaver in 93rd with 28:03 and Lauren Hansch in 96th with 29:30.

The Cowboys took 12th in the team standings with 333 points. The Monticello boys team also won with 36 points, followed by South Hardin with 85 points and Grundy Center/Gladbrook-Reinbeck with 90 points. Lake LeBahn of Union was first individually in 16:22.

Isaiah Nebbe was 21st in 17:50, and was followed by: Kaeden Langfitt in 55th with 19:06; Luke Brownell in 80th with 20:25; Nick Carpenter in 87th with 21:00; Jacob Ingebritson in 90th with 21:17; Jackson Beisel in 94th with 22:27 and Alex Greving in 95th with 23:14.
