Cowgirls volleyball gets past Lynx in three sets

The Cowgirl volleyball team (rated 7th in 2A) had little trouble disposing of conference rival Webster City in a home match last Thursday, defeating the Lynx in straight sets by scores of 25-19, 25-15 and 25-14. Team serving was just over 93 percent, with Jadyn Jondle going 30 of 32 (five aces). Morgan Middleton finished 11 of 13, Alaina Friesleben 10 of 10, Nicole Waters 7 of 7 (one), Kendall Lienemann 6 of 7 (one) and Lexie Lane 5 of 5 (one).

Friesleben set the ball for 40 assists, with Jondle and Lane getting credit for one each. Middleton smashed 21 spikes for points over the net, with Lienemann adding 12 from her front row spot. Summer Traub made four kills, with Friesleben, Lane and Waters all finishing at two each.

The 48 total digs were led by Jondle’s 19, with Middleton nearly in double digits at nine. Lienemann made seven saves of the ball, Friesleben six, Emma Conlon three and Waters two. Brooke Askelsen and Lane rounded the column out with one save each. Lane, Middleton and Waters all went above the net for a solo block each, while Lane also made a block assist.
