Cowgirls volleyball continues to win, down Iowa Falls-Alden in three

The 5th ranked (2A) Clarion-Goldfield-Dows volleyball squad had a bit more competition in last Thursday’s match at Iowa Falls-Alden. In the end, the outcome was not in doubt as the Cowgirls took care of the Cadets in three straight sets by scores of 25-19, 25-15 and 25-20.

The team served at 87.3 percent, with Morgan Middleton at 13 of 13 (four aces) and Jadyn Jondle 12 of 14 (four). Kendall Lienemann was 10 of 10 (two) and Alaina Friesleben 10 of 13 (three). Nicole Waters made good on 9 of 11 and Lexie Lane on 8 of 10.

Friesleben set the ball for 37 assists, with Jondle adding two. Middleton pounded 22 successful kills over the net and Lienemann finished at 13 kills for a solid 1-2 attack offensively. Lane added three kills, Friesleben two and Waters one.

Jondle compiled 22 digs on defense, with Lienemann and Middleton both at eight apiece and Friesleben six. Emma Conlon chipped in four saves of the ball. Lane and Waters had two solo blocks each, with Friesleben and Nikki Kapka making one block assist apiece.
