Cowgirls pull out another win 10-1 over Eagles

Last Tuesday night in a home game, the Clarion-Goldfield-Dows varsity softball team won their second game of the season 10-1 over West Hancock. The Cowgirls came out of the gate strong, posting a 4-0 lead after the first inning and still held a 8-1 advantage after five were completed.

Lexi Gatewood crossed the plate first to start their half of the opening inning, followed by Maycie Rector. A Rilley Ring Foss single drove in Hannah Kapka, with Foss later scoring on a Hannah TerHark base hit. In the second, Maddie Disney scored on a Kapka grounder. Gatewood then scored her second run on another Foss single. In the fifth inning, Emma Konvalinka crossed the plate on a Michey Reiter base hit with Maya Jackson also coming home as a courtesy runner. Gatewood scored for the third time in the sixth, with Disney eventually also reaching home base.
