Cowgirls edge past Iowa Falls-Alden

Last Monday, June 24, the Cowgirl softball team defeated visiting Iowa Falls-Alden 6-5 in nine innings. Harle led off the first by reaching on a base hit, then stole her way around to third. Megan Askelsen would drive her in. In the third, Quinn Hansch started it off with a walk and advanced as Harle reached on a bad throw. Three batters later, Gabby Hackley brought both of them home.

A Vanessa Kolb single scored Brooke Askelsen in the fourth, and in the ninth it was Hansch reaching first and scoring on a double by Harle. M. Askelsen would then score the deciding run to end it. Harle went 3 for 4 with a double, an RBI and two runs scored. Hackley was 2 for 4 with two RBI, and Kolb 2 for 4 with one RBI. M. Askelsen, Hannah Tew and Hansch all had a base hit each, with Hansch crossing the dish twice and both M. Askelsen and B. Askelsen once each.
