Cowgirls and Cowboys return to action for new year

As the calendar turns to January 2020, the Cowgirl and Cowboy teams return to the court and mat to resume their schedules. The basketball teams will travel to Webster City on Tuesday, January 7 and to Belmond-Klemme on Thursday of that same week. They return home to host St. Edmond on Friday to finish the week.

The Cowgirls are 4-2 and are led in scoring by Kinnetz at 120 points for a 20.0 ppg average. She is followed by Middleton at 9.3 ppg and Hale at 8.2 ppg. Middleton has the best field goal percentage (at least 50 attempts) of 52 percent, while Kinnetz has both the best three-point percentage (at least 40 attempts) of 25 percent and the best free throw percentage (at least 30 attempts) of 73.3 percent. Harle leads in rebounds with 41, while Kinnetz leads in both assists with 16 and steals with 25 so far. Middleton leads in blocked shots with eight.

The Cowboys are also 4-2 and are led in scoring by Connor State at 84 points and a 16.8 ppg average. He is followed by Christian Gaytan at 11.0 ppg and Coady Olson at 10.8 ppg. State leads in field goal percentage (at least 55 attempts) at 63.6 percent, Gaytan leads in three-point percentage (at least 20 attempts) at 40 percent and State in free throw percentage (at least 20 atttempts) at 70 percent. Gaytan leads in rebounds with 38 and Jaxon Carpenter in assists with 27,  while State leads in both steals with 10 and in blocks with 11 so far.
