Cowgirls and Cowboys both fifth at NCC golf meets

The Cowgirl golf team competed on Monday, May 6 at the NCC meet at Fort Dodge’s Lakeside course, which was hosted by the Gaels. Humboldt won with a 350 total, followed by: Clear Lake 368, Hampton-Dumont 409, Algona 419, C-G-D 421, Iowa Falls-Alden 437, St. Edmond 460 and Webster City 484. Ashley DeLong of the Lions was medalist with an 18-hole score of 83. For the Cowgirls, it was Eden Polzin leading the way with a 97, followed in counting scores by Ashtyn DeCoster with 104, Hannah Tew with 108 and Nicole Waters with 112. Other cards were turned in by Katie Haberman with 112 and Jadyn Jondle with 123.

The Cowboys traveled to Mason City for their NCC meet hosted by Clear Lake. The Lions took the team title with a 322, followed in order by: Webster City 331, Humboldt 341, St. Edmond 342, C-G-D 353, Iowa Falls-Alden 362, Algona 369 and Hampton-Dumont/CAL with 436. Tate Storbeck of the Lions was medalist with an 18-hole score of 75. Dalton Nesheim led the Cowboys with a 41-40 for 81, followed in counting scores by Blake Jackson 49-39 for 88, Alec Martin 46-46 for 92 and Camden Hanson 54-51 for 92. Other cards were turned in by Brandon Schultz with 92 and Andy Conlon with 110.
