Cowgirl volleyball team easily defeats South Hardin

Led by the dominant front row play of Morgan Middleton, the Clarion-Goldfield-Dows volleyball team easily eliminated South Hardin from regionals with a three-set home win last Wednesday by scores of 25-9, 25-6 and 25-14. That takes their overall record to 25-8 and is their fourth win in a row.

The Tigers had no answer defensively for the Cowgirl sophomore’s 20 kills, and even though their serving efficiency was just a bit below their season average (92.7 percent) Middleton more than made up for that with her power game at the net. Serving was at just under 92 percent, with Megan Askelsen at 21 of 22 (two aces). Alaina Friesleben was 14 of 15, Jadyn Jondle 11 of 12 (two) and Middleton 9 of 9 (one). Vanessa Kolb went 4 of 4 (one), Emily Kapka 4 of 5 and Haley Nerem 4 of 6. Kendall Lienemann made good on her lone serve in the match.
