Cowgirl volleyball stays unbeaten, easily downs Gaels

The Clarion-Goldfield-Dows varsity volleyball express keeps rolling as the team went to 7-0 overall and their first win in the North Central Conference over St. Edmond in three sets at home last Thursday. Scores were 25-9, 25-15 and 25-16.

Team serving was at 90.4 percent, with Kenna Kruger setting the pace in going 28 of 29 behind the line with no less than six aces. Jadyn Jondle finished at 9 of 9 (five aces), with Vanessa Kolb at 8 of 9 (one), Haley Nerem at 7 of 7 (one), Megan Askelsen at 7 of 9 (one) and Alaina Freisleben at 6 of 9 (two). Morgan Middleton was successful in her one serve attempt.

“What a great home crowd to start conference play!” stated head coach Katrina TerHark. “The girls came out and dominated from the very beginning of the night, and just kept it going throughout all three sets. We were able to serve aggressively and it paid off, as we had 16 aces as a team."
