Cowgirl track & field team goes to three meets in week

Last Monday the Cowgirl track & field team traveled to the Bulldog Girls Invite hosted by Lake Mills. Osage won the team title with 129 points, followed in the top five of 13 teams by St. Ansgar with 113, Central Springs with 95, West Hancock with 86 and Belmond-Klemme with 53.5 points. The Cowgirls were 10th with 33 points.

The red and black entered a limited number of events, but still came out with great individual efforts. Kendall Lienemann took gold in the high jump, leaping to a 4’ 8” best mark. She also led off the sprint medley relay, helping teammates Shelly Baumeier, Courtney Harle and Raven Kinnetz post a 2:01.28 for a second place finish. Harle took a solo second place in the 100 dash in 13.36, while Natalie Kirstein took a bronze with a 14’ 3.25” long jump leap.
