Cowgirl track & field team competes at NCC meet in Algona

The home team prevailed last Thursday night at the North Central Conference girls track & field meet, but it was close. Algona took the title by just one point over Iowa Falls-Alden, with Humboldt in third and the Cowgirls fourth.

There were no gold medals taken home, but there were several strong finishes for the team. Morgan Middleton took second in the shot at over 34 feet, with Courtney Harle posting a 13.04 to finish runner-up in the 100 dash. Kendall Lienemann kept it going with a 1:10.40 for second in the 400 lows, and the night concluded with the foursome of Lienemann, Harle, Vanessa Kolb and Raven Kinnetz on anchor touring the track in 4:17.82 for second in the 4x4 relay.

“I thought the meet went very well for us,” stated head coach Monty Harker.
