Cowgirl track and field take part in three meets

The Clarion-Goldfield-Dows girls track & field team started a busy week with the Bulldog Relays at Lake Mills last Monday, April 25. The rest finished like this: C-G-D 79, St. Ansgar 78, Lake Mills 72, G-H/V 49.5 and Eagle Grove 47.

“There was good competition at this meet, and not a bad night weather-wise,” stated head coach Monty Harker. “We had a chance to see some regional teams there. It was a pretty good night for us.”

Kenzie Alberts won the 800 in a time of 2:27.92, with the sprint med grouping of Kenzie Goodell, Maddie Disney, Alberts and anchor Claire Davis touring the track in 1:58.06 to win that event. Taking second place was Disney (long jump), Davis (400), Ana Johnson (110 highs) individually, along with the shuttle and 4x4 relay events.
