Cowgirl golf gets busy with several recent meets

On April 23, the Cowgirl golf team traveled to the Meadows Hills course at Iowa Falls for a meet between five schools. Clear Lake won with a 200 total, followed by Algona with 221, C-G-D with 223, Iowa Falls-Alden with 241 and Webster City with 264. Meghan Geary fired the low round for the team with a 50, followed in counting cards by Cassy Mendoza at 55, Nicole Waters at 57 and Eden Polzin at 61.

The Cowgirl JV won their meet with a 249, followed by IF-A at 286, Algona at 287 and Webster City at 389. Cowgirl JV scores were: Katie Haberman 58, Lauren Odland 61, Karlie Sellner 64 and Hannah Tew 66.

“Considering the lack of opportunity to practice outside, and not even playing a practice round prior to this first meet, the girls did a good job,” stated head coach Denny March. “We hit a lot of good shots, but everyone was inconsistent in making good contact. I know this will improve as we now are able to play everyday.”
