Cowboys take down Eagles 49-0

In a game that turned things around nicely from the first week’s result, Clarion-Goldfield-Dows came out and took care of business from the opening kickoff in dominating Eagle Grove 49-0 last Friday on the Eagles home field.

Jaace Weidemann led the ground game with 115 yards on 10 carries and a score. Trenton Jergenson had 65 yards on eight attempts with two touchdowns, Clinton Miller 49 yards on four carries and one TD and Mateo Martinez 45 yards on four attempts with one score. Cael Chase added six yards on a single carry.

Weidemann was two of four through the air for 98 yards and two touchdowns. Andy Conlon caught both of those scoring passes. Kain Nelson punted once for 53 yards, with Martinez returning two punts for an 8.5-yard average. Jergenson returned one kickoff for 18 yards, with Christian Gaytan going 7 of 7 on PAT’s.
