Cowboys take a 60-43 loss at Algona

Two Cowboys hitting double digits in the scoring column still wasn’t enough to overcome 25 total turnovers in a 60-43 loss at Algona. The boys in red and black will enter the holiday break with some work to do to right the ship and get back to their early winning ways.

“Algona is a young team that is hungry,” stated head coach Brandon Lantzky. “They know the game well, and they play this game aggressively. First things first, I must say that they did a great job defensively and were very patient on the offensive end.”

Rhett Darland dropped 18 points thru the hoop including three baskets from downtown, with Sam Urness canning 13 pointsincluding 7 of 11 from the line. Avery Harrington added seven points, Will Weidemann three points and Alex Machuca two points in support. Weidemann led the team in board work with eight in his column, followed by Darland with six and both Urness and Harrington with five each. Bryce Tegtmeyer got his mitts on four caroms, Zach Martin three and Machuca one.
