Cowboys hang tough, but drop 33-26 game to Bulldogs

In a high scoring offensive game last Friday at Hampton-Dumont, the Bulldogs outlasted Clarion-Goldfield-Dows 33-26. Quarterback Jaace Weidemann scored twice, one of a 73-yard scamper in the third quarter. He also lofted touchdown passes to Andy Conlon for 17 yards in the second period and Mateo Martinez for six yards to open the scoring.

The Cowboys finished with 350 total yards compared to the Bulldogs 315, and had 16 first downs compared to H-D with 11. They converted on 11 of 19 third down attempts and kept penalties to a minimum, only being flagged twice for 15 total yards compared to four for 20 for the Bulldogs. The edge in time of possession also went to the Cowboys, 27:42 compared to 20:18.
