Cowboys eighth, Cowgirls 11th at Webster City cross country

The Clarion-Goldfield-Dows cross country team competed last Tuesday in Webster City. The highly-rated Humboldt team took the girls title with 20 points as five of their runners finished in the top seven. They were followed by: St. Edmond 74, Roland-Story 106, Algona 108, Eagle Grove 111, Fort Dodge Public 162, South Hamilton 213, Webster City 222, Boone 245, Southeast Valley 247, Cowgirls 264 and Belmond-Klemme 268.

Angela Castro finished 41st in 24:51.00 to pace the varsity. She was followed by: Katherine Lopez in 42nd at 25:17.00; Courtney Harle in 66th at 26:43.00; Maya Jackson in 67th at 26:47.00; Kylie Klaver in 70th at 27:28.00; Kayleen Johnson in 78th at 28:47.00 and Jackie Lopez in 82nd at 29:57.00.

On the boys varsity side, it was Humboldt in first as a team with 56 points in just getting past South Hamilton with 57 points. They were followed by: Roland-Story 83, Webster City 92, Algona 129, Eagle Grove 184, Fort Dodge Public 215, Cowboys 217, Boone 262, Southeast Valley 262, St. Edmond 269, Manson NW Webster 296, Hampton-Dumont 333 and Belmond-Klemme 436.
