Cowboys compete in two meets last week

Last Tuesday, the Clarion-Goldfield-Dows boys track & field team took second place at the Belmond-Klemme Bronco Relays. Lake Mills took the team title with 98 points, followed by C-G-D with 73, B-K with 72.66, G-H/V with 71.33 and West Fork with 57.

Chase Harker won the high jump (5’ 6”), with the 4x4 relay of Haechler, Hamilton, Derek Conlon and Pogge crossing in 3:37.57 for the win. Pogge also took second in both the 100 (11.33) and 200 (23.19). The shuttle relay grouping of Hamilton, Harker, O’Connor and Haechler crossed in second with a 1:07.06 time.

A handful of third place finishes included Andrew Conlon in the high jump (5’ 4”), Hayden Klaver in the 3200 (11:52), Hamilton in the 100 (11.59) and the 4x2 of Littlejohn, Herrington, Harker and Tegtmeyer coming home in 1:42.81.

Littlejohn was fourth in the discus (83’ even), with Alex Rosenbaum finishing in 11:54.33 for fourth in the 3200. Other finishes at that spot were Kamren Jergenson in the 400 (58.42), O’Connor in the 110 hurdles (18.68), Klaver in the 1600 (5:29.85), Hamilton again in the 200 (23.58), Haechler in the 400 hurdles (1:01.75) along with the 4x8, distance med and 4x1 relays. Ryan Watne was fifth in the shot (33’ 3.5”), along with Rosenbaum in the 1600 (5:32.51) and Max Powers in the 800 (2:22.95)
