Cowboy wrestlers defeat St. Edmond, Clear Lake last week

The Clarion-Goldfield-Dows wrestling team traveled to Clear Lake last Thursday with St. Edmond also making the trip north to join them in the triangular. The Cowboys easily defeated the Gaels 75-5. Falls were recorded by Connor Johnson (132) and Kain Nelson (220), while Tyler Stein (106) scored a 12-5 decision. The rest of the weights were all forfeited to the Cowboys side of the scoreboard.

They had a closer dual with the Lions, but still came out on the winning end of a 45-21 score. Fall points came from Reed Abbas, Sam Wigans, Mason Carpenter and Spencer Trenary. Carpenter was the quickest, barely breaking a sweat in pinning his man in a mere 36 seconds. Johnson, Tanner Abbas and Reymundo Vasquez all scored major decisions.

The team takes part in the Battle of Waterloo this Friday night and Saturday.
