Cowboy volleyball defeats Lynx in three

Last Thursday in Webster City, the Clarion-Goldfield-Dows varsity volleyball team took to the road and defeated the Lynx by set scores of 25-10, 25-18 and 25-15. Team serving was at nearly 92 percent, with Alaina Friesleben a perfect 20 of 20 (one ace). Haley Nerem went 12 of 13 (one), Vanessa Kolb 11 of 12 (two) and Morgan Middleton 10 of 11. Megan Askelsen finished at 6 of 6, Jadyn Jondle 6 of 7 (one) and Emily Kapka 2 of 4.

Friesleben set for 37 assists, with Jondle, Kolb and Nerem all credited with one each. Middleton hammered home 20 kills in the attack mode, with Nerem making nine and Kolb seven spikes for points. Friesleben, Jondle and Kapka all had three kills each and Kendall Lienemann one.
