Cowboy track & field team goes to Clear Lake

The Clarion-Goldfield-Dows boys track & field team took part last Tuesday in the Lions Boys Relays hosted by Clear Lake. The home team took the title with 153 points, followed in order by: Lake Mills 151.5, Forest City 130, Hampton-Dumont 100, Algona 63, Belmond-Klemme 48, C-G-D 46 and Osage 43.

Ryan Watne brought home the only gold medal, taking first with a toss of over 46 feet in the shot put. Nate Rapp was close to that spot in the discus, but settled for second at just over 139 feet.

“We’re coming along, and I continue to see good performances and improvement as we progress towards the conference meet and beyond,” said head coach Craig Warnke.
