Cowboy track & field takes part in three meets

Last Tuesday the Cowboy track & field team traveled to Garner for the Cardinal Relays hosted by Garner-Hayfield/Ventura. Lake Mills took the team title with 162 points, followed in the 11-team field by Belmond-Klemme with 112, West Hancock with 97, North Butler with 79 and C-G-D with 77.

The field events shined for the red and black as Nate Rapp won the discus (133’ 09”) and Ryan Watne the shot put (48’ 4.5”). That was followed by more first place performances from the sprint medley and the shuttle hurdle relays. The medley team of Clinton Miller, Luis Delacruz, Armando Garcia and Isaac Davis burned up the track in 1:40.29 for the gold, while the shuttle foursome of Christian Gaytan, Connor State, Kamren Jergenson and Miller clocked in at 1:06.42 to win.
