Cowboy track & field goes to Buena Vista

Last Friday, the Clarion-Goldfield-Dows Cowboys took part in the indoor meet at Buena Vista in Storm Lake. The team did excellent in field events, as Ryan Watne finished fifth with a 45’ 00” toss in the shot. Nate Rapp was ninth with a 43’ 2” best effort. Clinton Miller was 15th in the high jump, clearing 5’ 4” for the day.

Miller also took 11th in the 60-meter hurdles with a 9.38, with Christian Gaytan at 21st in 9.85. Kaden Langfitt was 32nd in 5:48.38 in the 1600, with Huston Johnson 33rd with a 1:05.04 in the 400. Brayan Gomez posted a 3:09.57 for 39th in the 800, and Armando Garcia checked in at 29.85 for 40th in the 200 event. Angel Carrillo was 64th in 8.66, with Edson Cruz right behind in 65th at 8.79, in the 60-meter dash.

In the relays, the shuttle hurdle crew was ninth in 39.13 and the 4x2 group 14th in 1:42.09. The sprint med relay took 15th in 4:15.96 and the 4x8 19th in 11:28.49.
