Cowboy football team final overall district stats

The 2017 Clarion-Goldfield-Dows varsity football team finished 2-7 overall, with a 2-5 record in Class 2A, District 2 play. Clear Lake and New Hampton tied with 6-1 records, with Crestwood, Cresco next at 5-2.

The team rushed for 1,253 total yards on 376 carries with nine rushing touchdowns. They passed for 701 total yards and scored 107 total points. The breakdown shows 54 points scored rushing and 30 points scored by pass. They kicked one PAT and converted on eight two-point attempts. They had a safety and 12 points on returns.

The team had 407.5 total tackles, broken down to 245 solo tackles and 162.5 tackle assists. There were 33 solo tackles for a loss, 11 assists for a loss, 15 solo sacks and four sack assists. Solo tackle leaders were: W. Weidemann with 55, Tegtmeyer with 24, Colby Lienemann with 23, Lindaman with 22, Carter Dietz with 20, Salvador Fregoso with 18, Johnson and Vasquez with 15 each, Machuca with 13, Harrington with 10, Conlon with eight, Rapp with six, Ryan Watne with five, Connor Johnson with four, Noah Roosa with three, Beltran with two and Riley State and J. Weidemann with one each.
