Clarion council discusses code enforcement

The Clarion City Council met for their regular meeting on Monday, August 6 at the council chambers.

At the meeting, the council set a date for the continuation of the public hearing regarding the request to re-zone the property owned by Brent Rink of Rink’s Auto and Tire Shop from residential to commercial.

Rink made the request earlier in the summer, however it has been the opinion of the planning and zoning commission, along with that of City Attorney Rich Bordwell, that the rezoning request does not meet the required legal standard. Public discussion on the matter will continue on Monday, August 20.

Addressing additional business from the previous meeting, the council had planned to vote on accepting a proposal to offer residents insurance for waterline leaks and breaks however a quote was not yet available. The council agreed to table the action until the quote and policy was given.
