C-G-D wrestlers crown three champs, take third at Parkersburg

A powerful Don Bosco team totally dominated the Keith Vry Invitational last Saturday at Aplington-Parkersburg with 306 points. The next closest team was Crestwood (Cresco) with 177, followed in the top five of 17 teams by C-G-D with 167, Charles City with 93.5 and Perry with 62.

The Cowboys had three champions on the day. Tyler Stein (113) won by a fall and a decision before securing the gold with a 12-2 major win over Brown (Don Bosco). Remington Hanson used three pins to advance to the title round where he did the same again in 2:50 over Bieschke (Benton Comm.). Spencer Trenary kept his unbeaten season going with two falls and a forfeit to gain the finals. He took a win over Pittman (Don Bosco) to wear the gold.
