C-G-D cross country teams at NCC meet in Algona

The Clarion-Goldfield-Dows/CAL cross country teams traveled to the River Road golf course at Algona for the NCC Meet last Tuesday. The girls varsity title went to Humboldt with 24, followed by: Iowa Falls-Alden/Ackley-Geneva/Wellsburg-Steamboat Rock 77, St. Edmond 81, Algona 110, Clear Lake 131, Hampton-Dumont 164, Webster City 170 and the Cowgirls with 207.

On the boys side, the varsity finished sixth as Clear Lake took team honors with 38 points. They were followed by: Humboldt 40, Webster City 89, Iowa-Falls/Alden 120, Algona 126, Cowboys 142, St. Edmond 174 and Hampton-Dumont 221.

“Shout-out to Caleb for hitting another season best,” said coach Missy Springsteen-Haupt. “I would love nothing more than to see this hard worker squeak under 20 minutes this week. Shout-out to Steph for beating her previous best by one second. Katherine also had her best time of the season, and Raven had a personal best.”
