70 Seniors Graduate from Clarion-Goldfield-Dows

                The Class of 2015 at Clarion-Goldfield-Dows High School received their diplomas at the commencement ceremony, which was held on Sunday afternoon, May 17, in the high school gymnasium. The program began with the traditional Fanfare and Processional, performed by the Concert Band. The Pledge of Allegiance and the Invocation by Colten Langfitt followed this. Taylor Kruger gave the Valedictorian Address. Trenton Sann, Class President, also gave an address to the crowd. Jenalee Hinkle gave the benediction. Dr. Robert Olson, Superintendent, introduced the speakers. Dennis March, High School Principal, presented the scholastic awards and gave the presentation of the class. Clint Middleton, CGD School Board President, gave the acceptance of the class.

                Performances by the Chorus included “You Raise Me Up” by Roger Emerson, performed by the senior chorus members, “Lullabye (Goodbye My Seniors)” by Billy Joel, “Maybe Someday (We’ll Meet Again)” by Terry McPheeters, and “Good Riddance (Time of Your Life)” by Mike Taylor. Additionally, the Concert Band performed “Pevensey Castle” by Robert Sheldon. The class selected “Time Of Your Life” by Green Day as the class song and White Carnation Flowers with red tips as the class flower. The class motto is “You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself in any direction you choose. You’re on your own. And you know what you know. And you are the one who’ll decide where to go.” by Dr. Seuss.
